DESCRIPTION

Garage Museum of Contemporary Art runs regular events for film and animation lovers, adapted for people with developmental disabilities.

Twice a month, participants meet at Garage Education Center to discuss a feature or documentary film selected in advance.

The first discussion club meeting of the month features an invited guest, in one way or another connected with the theme of the film, who answers the participants’ questions.

At the second meeting, participants write reviews of the film and, together with the illustration teacher, create a movie poster for it.

At the end of the season, Garage plans to release a collection of texts and posters made by the discussion club members.

Irina Svetlichnaya

Irina Svetlichnaya is an artist and teacher. She graduated from Moscow State University of Design and Technology in 2009. She is the author and methodologist of various educational programs for creative studios and laboratories. She developed a program and ran a theater lab for teenagers at the British School of Design in 2017/2018 and makes props for Moscow’s Ten Theater. Author and host of family camp programs at the Perekrestok Center for Social and Psychological Adaptation and Development of Teenagers. Since 2017, she has been developing and teaching educational and inclusive programs at Garage.

Sofya Sapozhnikova

Sofya Sapozhnikova is an artist and teacher. Participant of Dmitry Gorelyshev’s Graphic Workshop. She leads drawing classes at Moscow’s Prostaya School and teaches at the Institute of Contemporary Art Moscow. She also runs an art workshop at the “Masters and Margarita” Center for Social and Psychological Adaptation and Development of Teenagers with ASD. Author and teacher of educational and inclusive programs at Garage.

HOW TO TAKE PART

Classes are accessible to participants of any skill levels and are designed for people over 18 years of age. Participation is free.
