DESCRIPTION

Participants will be introduced to the basic principles of audio description and learn how to translate visual artworks into words.

When we face the task of describing a work of art to a blind person for the first time, we start asking ourselves questions we might have never thought of before. Do we need to describe colors? How do we convey scale and perspective? Where do we begin? In this workshop, participants will get answers to these and many more questions, learn about the difficulties faced by blind and partially sighted museum visitors and find out how to make audio description of artworks for visually impaired people clear and informative.
