Alfredo Costa Monteiro Concert at Garage Library

DESCRIPTION

Portuguese experimental musician Alfredo Costa Monteiro will give a solo live performance at Garage Library as part of the Quiet, Please program of chamber music concerts.

A remarkable accordion player able to demonstrate the diverse phonic possibilities of his musical instrument, Alfredo Costa Monteiro will present a solo acoustic program for the accordion at Garage. Based on the ongoing search of novel aural options that are reminiscent of analogue electronic music, his pieces are closely associated with lo-fi aesthetics where instability of sound and experimental manipulations with the body of the instrument play a crucial role.
