Limited edition of Garage gifts available on the occasion of Takashi Murakami Under the Radiation Falls

Date

2 OCT 2017

This September, Garage Museum of Contemporary Art presents Under the Radiation Falls, the first exhibition of Takashi Murakami in Russia. To celebrate this historic occasion, the Museum and the artist have worked closely to design an extremely limited edition of specially designed clothing and accessories.

These objects unite Murakami’s iconic worldview with the design aesthetic of Garage. Designed in Moscow and produced in Russia, this line of merchandise is the perfect companion to what will be one of the year’s great art events.

The collection speaks to the importance of collaboration in the Museum and in the artist’s studio. Multiple sweatshirt and t-shirt designs feature an unprecedented blend of Murakami’s characters and the Garage logo, bringing the disparate traditions of Japanese art and Russian design into starkly beautiful, unexpected union. Additionally, three tote bags are emblazoned with Murakami’s version of the Garage logo and lined with Murakami’s signature floral patterning. Posters and puzzles (large and small) showcase original Murakami compositions, as do a selection of iPhone cases, magnets, and stationery. These collector’s items capture one of the world’s most idiosyncratic visionaries exploring new territory.

All items are only available at Garage bookshop, and online here. They went on sale to Garage cardholders and patrons on September 27, 48 hours before the official opening of Under the Radiation Falls. These products will only be available until the exhibition ends on February 4, 2018, ensuring the exclusivity of this highly sought after limited-edition collaboration.
