Viktor Pivovarov's book of memoirs and reflections Agent in Love was published in Moscow in 2001. Building on the album genre—invented by Pivovarov and his peers—it featured Pivovarov’s works accompanied by his own comments. The book got a warm reception with the readers, which entailed the opening of several major exhibitions of Pivovarov’s work in Moscow. In this new, updated edition, the black-and-white Agent, who emerged at the turn of the century, becomes one of the characters.

Author

Viktor Pivovarov (b. 1937) is a representative of Soviet nonconformism, one of the founders of Moscow Conceptualism, and the illustrator of several cult books of the late Soviet period, including The Sandman and Black Hen. In the early 1980s, he emigrated to Prague, were he lives and works. His works are exhibited around the world, including in Russia.
