Bilingual edition published in conjunction with the exhibition Cuba in Revolution presented by Garage Center for Contemporary Culture in 2011 revisits the epic history of the Cuban revolution, inviting the reader to trace the creation of a cultural myth aided by the art of photography.

The catalogue in Russian and English languages features works by some of the worlds’ biggest photographers (Luis Korda, Alberto Korda, Osvaldo Salas, Andrew St George, Dmitri Baltermants, and others), offering several different perspectives of the Cuban revolution. A disinterested documentary photographer, an emotionally involved supporter of the revolution, a poetically minded observer, and several other witnesses create a fascinating panorama of the revolution beyond the headlines. Inspiring a variety of emotions—from sadness and fear to joy and surprise—the album will leave no reader unmoved.

The exhibition Cuba in Revolution featured materials from the archive of Arpad Busson, which contains over two thousand original photographs of Cuba from 1933 to 1968.
