DESCRIPTION

Garage Museum of Contemporary Art offers free tours around Louise Bourgeois. Structures of Existence: The Cells for visually impaired visitors.

The works of the French-born American sculptor Louise Bourgeois exist in the intersection between modernism and contemporary art. Louise Bourgeois. Structures of Existence: The Cells brings together the series of impressive environment-like sculptures made by the artist in the last 20 years of her life.

On this tour, visitors will discuss the notions of sculpture and installation, as well as the materials that sculptors can use, and how artists look for forms to express their ideas and emotions. The tours are accompanied by an audio description of works, and include direct tactile contact with models of works and the materials used in their making. The tour has been developed by Garage’s Inclusive Programs manager Galina Novotortseva.
