Audi Brand and Garage Museum of Contemporary Art present a special project Art and Technologies and would like to welcome GARAGE cardholders to the series of lectures by leading art-market specialists and experts to Audi City Moscow innovative showroom based in the heart of Moscow. Also Garage will open a special pop-up space.

Art and Technologies includes a series of lectures given by art-market experts and an exposition organized especially for Garage Museum. Audi City Moscow, the innovative showroom, opened in June this year, will become a platform for the exchange of experiences, and discussions on the most up-to-date and relevant topics in the field of contemporary art. This joint project aims to demonstrate a balanced synthesis between innovative technologies and contemporary art. A special pop-up space, which allows visitors to have the opportunity to take an unbelievable walk around a futuristic city, will be open in Garage Museum by September 24.

As part of the series of open talks, leading art-market specialists and experts will discuss changes that are happening today in the field of art, collecting, and in the museum community. Invited experts together with Garage employees—Ekaterina Inozemtseva, curator of international exhibitions, and Andrey Misiano, junior curator, —will analyze the history of the development of the Russian art-market, and will try to make a prediction of where it goes next. A separate talk will be dedicated to educational programs and the complex process of training future professionals.

Contemporary Art Fair from A to Z

Which role does an art fair play in the infrastructure of the contemporary art-market? Is it difficult to gather artists, gallerists, and collectors together in one place? Following the most recent results of the only Russian international contemporary art fair COSMOSCOW, its founder and collector Margarita Pushkina will discuss with curator Olga Vashilina the specifics of designing and organizing such an event within a Russian context.

Margarita Pushkina—collector and founder of COSMOSCOW art fair. Pushkina is one of the former CEOs of Kit Finance, where she was in charge of creating a corporate collection for the bank. At the end of the 1990s she started her own collection. Founded the Moscow contemporary art fair COSMOSCOW.

Olga Vashilina—collector and curator, professor of art management at RMA Business School. She is among the collectors of COSMOSCOW art fair and a member of the International Council of Tate Modern (London). She has organized exhibitions in the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, Multimedia Art Museum in Moscow, etc

Contemporary Museum: Development Trends

Museum today is one of the most significant public spaces, which builds a specific system of relationship with a similarly growing and dynamic city environment. Together with the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts Deputy Director of Development, Anna Trapkova, and the State Tretyakov Gallery Head of Communication Department, Lara Bobkova, we will discuss changes that the bigger Moscow museums face today and will talk about the system of mutual influence between city and museum.

Anna Trapkova — the State Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts Deputy Director of Development. Earlier she worked in the Liberal Mission Foundation, was Director of Development in the Institute of Regional Politics and was a Deputy Director of Department of State Support for Art in the Russian Ministry of Culture.

Lara Bobkova — Head of Communication Department of the State Tretyakov Gallery. Art historian, professor, earlier — specialist of the State Tretyakov Gallery Department of Second Half of the XX Century Art. Her successfully realized projects in the Gallery include significant development of the Gallery’s brand, renewal of communication system and new navigation system in the State Tretyakov Gallery on Krymskiy Val.

Art Management Today

Sofja Trotsenko, Founder of Vinzavod and Dean of the Faculty of Design in RANEPA, together with Irina Stepanova, Head of Sotheby’s Russia, will evaluate the perspectives of development of educational programs in culture and will discuss significant projects in this field.

Sofja Trotsenko — founder of Vinzavod Center for Contemporary Art. Dean of Faculty of Design in the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. Member of the Board of Trustees of the Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art Foundation and the Organizing Committee of X INNOVATION Prize, the All-Russian Competition in Contemporary Visual Art. Currently holds a position of the President of VINZAVOD Support for Contemporary Art Foundation. From November 2012 — adviser to the Minister of Culture, on a voluntary basis.

Irina Stepanova — CEO of Sotheby’s Russia. She has been employed by the Russian Department of Sotheby’s Auction House from the moment of its foundation. One of the most competent experts of the Russian art-market.
