Family Day is a great chance for children and adults to share activities offered by the Museum, take part in creative workshops, and set out on an exciting trip around the exhibitions.
September’s Family Day is organized as a playful introduction to the Bone Music exhibition. A special guided tour for families will allow the visitors to learn what kind of music was banned from the 1940s to 1960s in the Soviet Union, and why, and how genuine music lovers were secretly spreading vinyl records copied on medical x-ray prints. During a special workshop, children will get acquainted with the technology of recording sound on vinyl, as well as learn how to use vinyl records and turn-tables, and listen to some of their parents’ and grandparents' favorite melodies from their youth. Guided by Garage educators, every participant of the workshop will compile and record their own music album using vinyl as a medium
