Screening: Architectones by Xavier Veilhan

DESCRIPTION

The first film of the Architecture. City. After Utopia program tells the story of the famous French artist's interventions into the buildings of famous architects, including the buildings of Le Corbusier, Konstantin Melnikov and Mis van der Rohe.

An exhibition of sculptures on the rooftop of Le Corbusier’s "Radiant City”, a BBQ in the backyard of  Konstantin Melnikov’s house, shaped like the house itself, a music performance written specifically for Sainte-Bernadette du Banlay church—the bunker chapel by Paul Virillo and Claude Parent...These are just a few of the artist Xavier's mischievous interventions.

The documentary by Francois Combin is a novel in seven chapters, each devoted to one modernist architect including Mis van der Rohe, John Lautner, Pierre Koenig, Richard Neutra and, invariably, Xavier Veilhan.
Director Francois Combin will present the film in person and answer questions from viewers after the screening.
