DESCRIPTION

Life on Kamchatka and in Chile is very different, but loneliness is the same everywhere. And if you keep on sending signals, one day a miracle could happen.

Anna Desnitskaya, On the Edge of the World

At the Edge of the World is the first book in which the famous illustrator of the book The Apartment, Anna Desnitskaya, is also the author of the text. The book subtly teaches children to recognize loneliness and take action to explore it: to accept the need for friendship and communication with a kindred spirit through play and contemplating nature. Together with a teacher, participants will read the book and look at its illustrations in order to talk about friendship and friends and about what can unite people from different parts of the globe who are thousands of miles apart. Inspired by the story and the illustrations, in the practical part of the meeting participants will create their own accordion book in which they will describe the things that are important to them and encode a message for a real or imaginary friend.
