Public Talk. Partner, co-organizer, patron: why does business support culture?

Date

Schedule

16:00–17:30

Place

Garage Auditorium

DESCRIPTION

Business support of culture projects is one of the most discussed issues in the art community; however, the business point of view is not always heard. This discussion, hosted by Garage, is aimed at building a dialogue between different professional and art communities about their experience, difficulties and tendencies.

Culture stays in the top-five most supported areas by social active companies but what do the partners, co-organizers and patrons get after the cooperation is over? Participants in this public talk will discuss the priorities of the business in such projects when they decide to support culture initiatives, and what kind of goals and tendencies are the most acute in the field nowadays. Representatives of the most respected private companies will share their experience of cooperation with culture projects and institutions including the most preferable strategies and principles. And it is clear that this path is not always covered by roses. Participants will speak about their motivation in choosing the level of their involvement and their own culture initiatives.

The public talk will gather together experts from business, museums, theaters, festivals, and various culture projects and start-ups.

This public talk is a part of the project organized by Vedomosti Newspaper, PwC, and Association of Grant Providers “Donor Forum” Leaders of the Corporate Charity and its nomination The best program for support of contemporary art and culture. In 2017 Garage became a partner of the nomination.
