Renowned artist Diana Machulina is a young mother and a graduate of the Surikov Institute. Her own painting technique has developed outside the boundaries of traditional art practice, and in this class, she teaches children how to perceive art freely. Her classes are not lessons in formal painting techniques, but instead, they teach children how to become immersed in art - thinking through playing. Diana has called this course ‘the school of visual tolerance'. Children will learn about the properties of paint and various styles of painting by comparing works from across history - from Egyptian murals to the canvases of Picasso, from the sculptures of Maillol to the Venus of Willendorf.
