Master Class with Oleg Mavromatti and a screening of excerpts from Ostrich, Monkey and The Grave

DESCRIPTION

Artist, one of the representatives of Moscow Actionism, Oleg Mavromatti will talk about working with footage found on the Internet and show excerpts from his new feature Ostrich, Monkey and The Grave.

A socio-political cinematic experiment, Ostrich, Monkey and The Grave reflects the principles formulated in Mavromatti’s “post cinema” manifesto. Like his previous film No Country for Fools, it explores the YouTube culture aesthetics and the Russian archetype of the fool who is delegated the right to speak the truth—in this case, about contemporary politics. Oleg Mavromatti will be talking to the participants of the master class over Skype.

After the screening, Oleg Mavromatti will answer the question in Skype.
