Krugly Band will play Coltrane’s A Love Supreme in four parts: Acknowledgement, Resolution, Pursuance and Psalm.
Alexey Kruglov’s orchestra Krugly Band was founded in 1999. Kruglov is a regular participant in instrumental concerts and literary/musical performances, playing to poetry by Mayakovsky, Vysotsky, Khlebnikov, Yesenin and Prigov among others. He has collaborated with the famous poet Andrey Voznesnsky, dancer Vladimir Vasilyev, film directors Boris Milgram and Alexander Mitta, actors Valentina Talyzina and Emmanuil Vitorgan, and American jazz musicians including Jimmy Heath, Christian McBride, Gary Bartz and Joe Lovano. Krugly Band has taken part in numerous jazz and experimental music festivals and art forums. Kruglov has been signed to Leo Records, ACT Music and For Tune among other labels. He is also a recipient of many Russian and international jazz awards and the presidential scholarship Noviye Imena. Several of his albums have made it into the top ten in the Europe Jazz Media Chart. In 2011 he was named "The Discovery of the Year" in a poll in Jazzthetik magazine (Germany). In the same year the British magazine Jazz Wise named him "The future of jazz".
