DESCRIPTION

Garage Museum of Contemporary Art and the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation present an evening of poetry readings featuring writings of the second half of the twentieth century.

Visitors will hear theatre and cinema actors read poetry of the second half of the twentieth century in the Atrium Space of Garage’s modernist building.

Fading, piercing or peace-making voices of the era speak about the relations between the artist and the state. Strong, loud poetry demanding freedom by Andrei Voznesensky, Yevgeny Yevtushenko and Robert Rozhdestvensky will be followed by writings of perestroika and the 1990s, showing how poetry connects people through historical eras, regimes, and cultures.

Participants: Igor Yaruslovich, People’s Artist of Russia, Distinguished Artist of Russia Alyona Babenko, Young theatre and cinema actors Sergey Aronin, Taisia Vilkova, Oleg Dolin, Sergey Druzyak, Kseniya Zuyeva, Maksim Kerin, Sofya Lebedeva, Alexey Maslodudov.

Poetry by: Sergey Aronin, Joseph Brodsky, Andrei Voznesensky, Danila Davydov, Sergey Druzyak, Yevgeny Yevtushenko, Yegor Letov, Novella Matveyeva, Yunna Morits, Bulat Okudzhava, Robert Rozhdestvensky and Boris Ryzhy.
