Garage Museum of Contemporary Art and the Documentary Film Center continue their series of art film screeenings.
A joint project initiated by Garage Museum of Contemporary Culture and the Centre for Documentary Cinema (CDC), Exhibition on Screen takes you on journey of discovery through shows of some of the finest art in history, followed by discussions with Garage staff members.
In Summer 2013, an exhibition at London’s National Gallery marked an unprecedented encounter: two of Jan Vermeer's "ladies" – Lady Standing at a Virginal and Lady Seated at a Virginal – were brought together for a single show, along with other paintings with a musical presence by the Dutch master. The mysterious virginal, a variation on the harpsichord, was an important element in 17th-century painting, an effective way of signifying a model's elegance and sophistication. The ladies at the virginal were joined by the Guitar Player, as well as other works dedicated to music, all set to sweet renditions of 17th-century melodies played by the Academy of Ancient Music. In [Title of film?] the art historian Tim Marlow presents the viewer with a detailed tour of the artist's life and work.

The Documentary Film Centre (DFC) — June 6th DFC and the Museum of Moscow opened with support of Moscow city Department of culture first Russian cinema hall for documentary. DFC is situated in one of the building of the Museum of Moscow — it is placed in the unique architectural complex of Provision storages.
