Arteholic is a strange trip around some of the world’s art meccas.
Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s favorite actor and Lars von Trier’s best friend Udo Kier is not only one of the best cinema baddies, but is also a great lover of art. Arteholic is a strange trip around some of the world’s art meccas: Städel, Museum Ludwig in Cologne, Kunstmuseum Bonn, Hamburger Bahnhof, Denmark’s Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, and the Centre Pompidou. In these places, Kier meets some of his old friends, including artist Rosemarie Trockel; curator Udo Kittelmann, director of the National Gallery in Berlin; artist Marc Brandenburg, the king on neon; video artist Marcel Odenbach; and filmmaker Lars von Trier. Udo Kier lives for art and has made art his life.
The film will be introduced by Hermann Vaske.
