DESCRIPTION

Inclusive performance workshop, where both hearing and seeing and deafblind visitors get a chance to physically experience Bourgeois’ works. 

'Sculptures are me,' Louise Bourgeois said, describing her work. 'My body is a sculpture.' Garage invites both hearing and seeing and deafblind visitors, hearing-impaired, visually impaired visitors to take part in an inclusive performance workshop, where participants of all levels get a chance to physically experience Bourgeois’s works.

Through direct tactile contact with models of her works and group interaction exercises, participants guided by Alexey Sherbakov of Krug inclusive theater, will experience the life of another person to better understand their own.  

ABOUT THE TEACHER

Alexey Sherbakov is a psychologist and stage director, and has been an actor at Krug inclusive theater (Artistic Director Natalya Popova) for 18 years. His professional interest lies in using theater to turn limitations into opportunities.

Free admission, advance booking necessary, 10 places available.

Classes are open to dancers of all levels, with no special skills required.

Wear comfortable clothes in which you can move freely, and warm socks or indoor shoes with no heels.
