The One Minutes is the title of a collection of short videos that run exactly one minute each.

The Moscow-based Vidiot magazine and the Amsterdam-based The One Minutes initiative present the 24-part series of one-minute videos created by young Dutch and Russian artists.

In 24 minutes you will trek the enormous country of Russia. Most of the videos seem to depict Russia, while others provide a counterpoint by taking the viewer briefly to the Netherlands. The national identification varies from story to story. Some shorts are easily recognizable as Russian, like the satirical video about a money smuggler on a train. Another story contains more subtle visual hints, like plates with Malevich patterns, Cyrillic characters on the archive tabs, and a boat made from newspaper. The kaleidoscopic variety of themes (from epics to the insignificant foot-washing scene), genres, and angles turns the series into a traveling adventure.

The series, supported by Wilhelmina Jansen Fonds foundation, was started as part of the twin 2013 project run in the two countries, The Year of Russia in the Netherlands and The Year of the Netherlands in Russia.
