DESCRIPTION

What skills and qualities does a journalist need? The ability to work in a team and have their own opinions, to see the unexpected in ordinary things, and to quickly select the important stories from the flow of information. Journalism also challenges people to confront their own fears and worries.

During this course, each participant will learn how to use a dictaphone, master simple filmmaking, ask the right questions, and write texts. Each lesson includes the study of one of the genres of radio journalism: news, interviews, reports. The course will culminate in participants recording their own independent programs in their chosen genre.

ABOUT THE COURSE INSTRUCTORS

Ksenia Lamshina is an RSUH graduate at the Institute of Economics, Management and Law. Program director of Radio Russia Culture, from 2012–2013 she worked as a teacher for the radio study group at Pirogov school. She has also worked as PR director for Architectural Politics.

Olga Korshkova graduated from the theatre studies faculty of Russian University of Theatre Arts (GITIS), and theater workshop of B. Lubimov. The author and host of the program “Other Cities” on Radio Russia, she is the producer of the independent company Liquid Theater. In 2013 she taught at Pirogov school.
