Garage Museum of Contemporary Art Announces the Participants in New Media Art Lab at EXPO-2017

Garage Museum of Contemporary Art is pleased to announce the names of participants in New Media Art Lab, which will be held in Astana as part of Garage Museum program at EXPO-2017 from June 12 to 18, 2017.

From May 18 to 28, 2017, about twenty artists living in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, namely in the cities of Astana and Almaty, applied to participate in the Laboratory for New Media. Of these, fourteen were selected: Victoria Bayeleva, Aigerim Jumagaliyeva, Aida Issakhankyzy, Dilda Kulmagambetova, Sabina Kuangaliyeva, Dana Molzhigit, Anvar Musrepov, Arman Nurlybayev, Anton Platonov, Tahir Yahyarov, Gulmaral Tatibaeva, Fatima Tuyakpaev, Zoya Falkova, Ykylaz Shaikhiev.

Russian artists Sergey Kasich, Valia Fetisov and Dmitry ::vtol:: Morozov will run workshops on sound art, web technology, and robotics, and will help participants to apply these technologies to their own work.

Travel expenses for those travelling to Astana from within Kazakhstan and accommodation costs will be covered.

In summer 2017, Garage Museum of Contemporary Art will be presenting its exhibition and public programs at the International Specialized Exhibition Astana EXPO–2017. They will include an international conference on Kazakhstan’s modernist architecture curated by Anna Bronovitskaya, an exhibition of photographs of modernist buildings by Yuri Palmin, a series of master classes for children, lectures and film screenings.
