Garage Museum of Contemporary Art to join the Red Square Book Festival

Date

1 JUNE 2017

Garage’s new publications, bestsellers, and catalogues will be on sale at Red Square from June 3 to 6, 2017

Running from June 3 to 6, 2017, Moscow’s third Red Square Book Festival will bring together over 300 Russian and international publishers. Garage’s stand, along with those of Russia’s other leading museums, will be featured in the special Museum Line in GUM department store.

At the stand, visitors will find Garage’s publications in Russian and English, exhibition catalogues, and the latest releases, including Viktor Pivovarov’ Gray Notebooks and his new album The Triumph of Kholin and Sapgir, as well as a Russian translation of Martha Graham’s book of memoirs Blood Memory. An Autobiography. English-speaking guests might be interested in Exhibit Russia: The New International Decade 1986–1996—a study of the history of Russian Contemporary Art based on Garage Archive Collection—or the New Work catalogues produced as part of Garage’s Atrium commissions program. The first catalogues in the series are devoted the projects Come to Garage! by Erik Bulatov and Within Our Gates by Rashid Johnson.

On June 4, at 3 pm visitors are invited to a presentation of Martha Graham’s Blood Memory. An Autobiography at GUM Demonstration Hall. The book will be presented by the editor of Garage’s new book series GARAGE DANCE, Vita Khlopova, an academic specializing in international contemporary dance.
